Nine point nine two inches wide. That number is the entire reason this cabinet is on the list and the entire reason to buy it.
We may earn a commission if you buy through a link on this page. It does not change the price you pay, and it did not decide what appears here.
A compressor cabinet that fits a ten-inch gap is rare. Most of what will slide into a space that narrow is thermoelectric, which means it gives up when the room gets warm. This one does not.

What the narrow footprint buys you
Twelve bottles is not many. But twelve bottles of proper compressor cooling in a 9.92-inch slot is a genuinely awkward problem solved, and it is the kind of gap that exists in a lot of kitchens: the leftover space at the end of a run, the void beside a dishwasher, the width of a wine rack that never worked.
The trade is honest. At around 250 dollars for twelve bottles you are paying roughly 21 dollars per bottle of storage, against about 8 dollars in a 25 to 37 bottle cabinet. You are buying the footprint. If you have the width for something larger, take the larger one.
The disclosure is unusually good
Three things appear here that most of this category leaves out.
Annual energy: 115.17 kWh. Published, and to two decimal places. For comparison, the 25-bottle EUHOMY on this same list declares 288 kWh. Some of that gap is volume, but it is a real number you can put in a spreadsheet.
Refrigerant: R-600a. Isobutane, the modern low-global-warming choice, and the fact that they say so is a small mark of seriousness.
Standards: DOE and ETL. Department of Energy compliance and independent electrical safety certification, both named.
None of that tells you how steady the cabinet is, which remains the specification nobody publishes. But a manufacturer that fills in the fields honestly is usually a better bet than one that leaves them blank, and there is no comparison-widget contamination on this listing at all, which after the first four is a relief.
The limitations, stated plainly
Single zone, 41 to 64 °F. One temperature for everything.
Wire racks, not wood. Cheaper, and less good at damping.
Freestanding only. Not built-in rated, so it needs air around it even though the footprint invites you to tuck it in. That is the trap with narrow cabinets: they look like they belong in a gap, and a gap with no airflow is exactly where they should not go. See where to put a wine cellar.
Right-hinged, not reversible. Check the corner before you order.
Who it is for
Anyone with a narrow gap and a warm room. That combination rules out thermoelectric and rules out most compressor cabinets on width, which leaves very few options and this is a good one.
Not for you if you have the space for something wider, where the same money buys two to three times the bottles.

What we did not do
We have not tested this cabinet. Nobody has run it for 72 hours to see how far it drifts, nobody has put a meter next to it, and no vibration figure exists for it because no manufacturer in this category publishes one.
Everything above is the specification as published in the Amazon listing on 9 September 2026, with the contradictions marked. That is a lower grade of evidence than a manufacturer specification sheet, and much lower than a measurement. If you see a site quoting a drift figure or a measured decibel reading for this model, ask them where it came from.
Worth knowing: Ivation and Schmécké appear to be the same machines under different badges, and both appear on this list. The evidence for that is in the Schmécké review.
Frequently asked questions
How wide is the Ivation 12-bottle wine cooler?
9.92 inches, so it fits a ten-inch gap. That is unusually narrow for a compressor cabinet and it is the main reason to choose this one over a wider unit holding more bottles for similar money.
Is the Ivation 12-bottle quiet enough for a bedroom?
It is a compressor unit, so it cycles on and off rather than humming steadily, and the listing publishes no decibel figure. For a bedroom a thermoelectric cabinet is the safer choice. For a kitchen or a living room, a compressor is the right technology and this one is a reasonable size.
