After his studies in F&B and Hospitality, and after learning the ropes as a sommelier in the UK and Spain, Arnaud moved to Hong Kong and started working for Blacksheep restaurants. Three years ago, he transitioned to the role of Head of Sales for one of the largest wine distribution companies in Hong Kong, Watson’s Wines, where he was recently promoted to Head of Business Development.
In this episode, Arnaud looks back on his childhood memories with his grandfather in the family vineyard in Jura. He shares his adventures as a young sommelier arriving in England and later in Spain, as well as his journey toward becoming a Master Sommelier and eventually moving to Hong Kong. Finally, he gives us an in-depth look at the wine industry in Hong Kong.
I truly enjoyed this conversation with Arnaud and our digressions about underrated wine regions that deserve to be brought into the spotlight: from Xérès (Sherry) to the Loire Valley, and of course Jura, his native region.
